There are R11 FW Woods and Rescue 11 clubs being sold as genuine when in fact, they are actually fakes. AAA fakes for sure! Looks so identical you can't tell the difference, you can only tell the difference after you put the club into play! LOL!

- Paint. I must say a lot of improvements these days. Compared to the last time, where at first look, you'd think that the clubheads are painted by 5 year olds. However, they will always leave a 'trace' : Smudgy paint that nobody bothers to 'fix'. Also, this shade of silver is too shiny.....it's not some kinda lip gloss they use is it? LOL!!!!!!
- Both the Rescue 11 and R11 clubheads goes through a process...its called 'electrolysis' or something......I can't remember what I was told....it was 'electro' something.....this process locks in the exterior look of the club. Its like applying powder after foundation to your face to 'set' it.....ok that example might be too girly! Yeah, so that process is something the copycats cannot duplicate; you'd see that it's not smooth all over.
- Same smudgy and paint color thingy
- It just looks weird right? The loft part.....like some kinda expired watermark sticker was used! LOL!
- The same electro something process.....its not a flawless finishing without it
Is the 5 wood shown in the picture an actual fake?

ReplyDeleteMy friend just purchased the R11 Ti 5 wood on ebay for $200 new. This sent red flags in my mind all over the place but the club seemed fine until I noticed the loft was 19* not 18*. The steel version is 19* but he has the Titanium. I called TaylorMade and the rep told me they never made the R11 Ti 5 wood with 19* of loft. With all of the consideration going into the fakes out there it sure is odd to see such an obvious flaw. I hate to tell my friend its a fake without checking the serial no. with TaylorMade. Has anybody heard of this before with the R11 woods?

ReplyDeletejeez my friend is gonna flip not to mention the fact he'll deny it as well. i am just being a friend and trying to look out for the guy because he has no idea how many idiots are out there. i gotta get that serial no. into taylormade for verification and try to get some pics.

I'm looking at your reason #3 with the 3 wood. The black finish is coming off the bottom of the club. Everything else looks good. Club has a serial #. Would you consider it fake?
