Taylormade R9 460 - What to look out for

Taylormade R9 460 - what should we be watching out for

Ok, as some of you who has been reading my blog, you would have known that I have a couple of R9 MAX and R9 460 on hand from my contacts from the Japanese Tour, since last week.

I was doing a random search on eBay and I saw a questionable R9 460 being listed, and may I say, for a surprisingly very cheap price. Anyway, I am not a person who likes to judge, but I just thought I'd like to share, what to look out for, if you are deciding to get a Pre-Released R9 460...a LEGIT one, that it.

The best tell-tale sign is the paint. Taylormade uses a very special paint for the R9 460, and if you are someone who takes a closer look, it is not that difficult at all to tell if your driver is 100% legit.

1) The <460> should be painted in greyish/silver. NOT black, NOT white, period.
2) The <R> is in bright christmas red, NOT solid bloody red.
3) The <9> should be in shimmery white, NOT solid chalk white. You should be able to see some shimmery glitters on the white paint.
(click on the picture above to enlarge it for a better look at the paint job)

Its easier to tell the difference for the <460> paint and the <9> paint. The red paint on the <R> is harder to tell, but when you take a close look, it should be pretty obvious.

Alright guys, buy safe, always ask for more pictures at different angles or lighting environments if need be.

Tata....

Images

I have started adding watermark to all my images. Recently I have seen some of my pictures being 'stolen' and then being used on eBay.

Do people not have their own cameras or what? I don't like the idea that people are using my pictures as their own, because it simply confuses buyers.
I reported to eBay but apparently eBay does not do anything, so oh well, I've decided to protect myself and my buyers by adding a watermark to my pictures.

Cheers

R9 TP .335 sleeves now available again.........!

Hi everyone,

just a quick post before I actually hit the bed (its 4:35am in Singapore, OMG!)

The R9 TP .335 sleeves are now available, the new orders are in with me and I am ready to ship upon order confirmation. These are in limited quantities so snap it up if you're keen.

I am still pricing them at a reasonable $35 / $45 ... even though I know they are going for a lot more on eBay.  :)

Well, a few people have actually questioned me 'why don't I list the TP sleeves on eBay since it can sell for as high as $100?' Ok, so I figured that this may be on your minds too, so I wanna answer this.

You see, as some of you may already have noticed, I was the first person who sold FCT sleeves on eBay and they were selling like hot cakes. Inevitably, there were a couple of people who approached me to buy in bulk, like more than 50pcs. I have people from UK and USA who buy my sleeves in bulk. Some of them were clubfitters who needed the sleeves in their clubfitting studio, and some of them were planning to resell them on eBay.
So, if you could understand where I am coming from, I, as a distributor/supplier (whatever you call it) to these people, will not go and spoil the market by listing a TP sleeve on eBay for $35 - LOL! Once I do that, the very same people who has bought from me with the intention to resell would literally suffer from zero business.

Its just like this, Taylormade would distribute to Golfsmith, Dicks Sporting Goods, local pro shops etc. You won't see Taylormade themselves listing on eBay to 'compete' with their dealers. They would also set a MSRP (Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price) so that the market would be evenly balanced'.
Its either I price it similar to their price ($70 to $100) or I do not list it on eBay at all.

I have decided not to list on eBay at $70-$100 for now. I would like to offer these TP sleeves at a great value of $35 - $45 to my buyers who support me via my blog.
I just started this blog and I would like to see this as a way to create awareness and drive more traffic to my site.....so, Thank God that you're brought to this site, because you don't have to pay $100 for a TP sleeve.....you can get it at 1/3 of the price here! Also to be blatantly honest, the cost of a TP sleeve is nothing much more than a standard .350 sleeve. If I can sell it at $35/$45 and still be happy with it, you can only imagine the profit margin for those guys selling at $70-$100.

Don't worry, this is the real deal. I take pride in my business whether on or off eBay.
Any problems, I'd be more than willing to resolve it with ya! Moreover, I only accept Paypal which is by far the safest way to pay online.

Also do note that I have spotted replica / fake FCT sleeves lately. You can read my guide on how to differentiate a genuine sleeve from a replica here.

Ok, have fun people, and TGIF!
Time to sleep now for me.........5am!

How to differentiate a genuine R9 FCT sleeve from a replica

Hello people! Hope all is well.

I have decided to write a little article on 'how to differentiate a genuine R9 FCT sleeve from a replica'.
Some may ask 'Why?'
Well, I have been doing a search on eBay lately and I have spotted a few replicas. Some buyers may not be aware of it, so I thought I'd do what I can to raise awareness.

Some buyers have asked me, if my sleeves were genuine? Well, right now, I'll declare that YES, my sleeves are genuine. I only accept paypal as a mode of payment, nothing else. So if anything goes wrong ie. Item not as described, a claim can be made and you get your money back.

I know... I know, seeing a seller from Singapore... which is Asia, people will start to think that my sleeves may not be the real deal. Haha, on the contrary, the replicas I spotted on eBay were sold by sellers from the USA and Canada.
So I think that goes to show that sometimes, we can't really judge a book by its cover. Just like the whole Susan Boyle incident, LOL!

I am proud to say that I have been the FIRST to sell R9 FCT sleeves on eBay. You see more US sellers now. I do supply in bulk to some of these eBay sellers and also to clubmakers in the US, UK and Europe. So I have no qualms about what I am selling.

I know this product very well, and I just want to share it with you guys who may in turn benefit from it. I hope you enjoy it as I've spent 3 hours doing it. I kinda missed watching American Idol doing this too. LOL... well I hate to say it but I seriously think Adam Lambert is gonna win. My Danny has no chance. Oh well, whatever!!

So back to the topic, Yes, there are replica FCT sleeves going around already. My cousin is a clubmaker in Japan and he works for the Japanese tour...but but but, I did not gain this knowledge from my cousin. Haha, no props to him.
I learnt a lot on these sleeves from my friend Craig who is a clubmaker here in Singapore. He has seen a couple of fake FCT sleeves being brought to him so far, so after buying him coffee, I got enough info to write this. So here we go:

What are the risks of using a replica FCT shaft sleeve?
- My friend Craig whom I mentioned above has seen R9 heads fly off during play. Replica sleeves are inferior. They are made using the cheapest materials and are not durable. Put it in play after a while (especially so if you play very often), the sleeve will either crack, or your R9 head will fly off during play. The head flying off could be due to 2 things. 1) The replica screw bolt which is easy to break after constant 'impact'  2)The sleeve pocket (where you insert your shaft), is not durable for a replica sleeve. It does not go through the proper techniques required like welding and what not.

So guys, make sure you get the real deal. A head flying off is no joke, you can injure someone else! OMG....and it is true! It has happened to golfers who bought replica sleeves (without knowing).

So as above, I have 2 pictures attached. You need to click on each picture to get an enlarged version. There you will see clear pictures and descriptions, comparisons between a genuine sleeve and a replica.

I am selling the FCT sleeves on eBay as well as on my blog. So, buy safe!
If you need further help on this topic, feel free to drop me an email.

1:40am.....time to sleep, got an 8am tee off tomorrow. Playing with 3 other ladies, so excited. I like it....cos I always play with guys and they are always better than me......so playing with ladies is nice! hahahah

R9 MAX and R9 460

Hi guys, I promised I'd post pictures as soon as I could. So here, I'll post sibe by side comparisons between the R9 MAX and R9 460.

On every picture, R9 460 is on the left side, and on the very last picture, the R9 460 is on top.

Similarities:
Both R9 MAX and R9 460 are 460cc heads
Both R9 MAX and R9 460 are conforming for USGA play

Differences:
R9 MAX has a center weight port (4g for retail, 16g for tour issued), while the weight port for the R9 460 is like the Burner family.

R9 MAX has a thinner face, which supposedly promoted further distance

R9 MAX is a rounder clubhead, while the R9 460 is a more triangular shaped clubhead.

Availability: Very limited on hand. My cousin sent some over from the Japanese Tour. If interested please email me: fairwaygolfsg@gmail.com to check availability.

YES! Cabrera!!

Yeah! Cabrera won! I'm so happy, damn the first time ever I predicted the right winner for a major! Haha, won some money for this little punt too.

So 2 of my top 5 picks which I chose a couple days back actually ended up in the Top 5, not bad! I am pleased with myself. haha

I was very entertained watching Phil and Tiger. I was hoping Phil could give it a shot for the green jacket, but he's missed 2 very crucial putts and literally screwed up the last hole.

Ok, I gotta go sleep. I am without sleep watching the playoff in Singapore.

Go Cabrera!

Yeah! Cabrera is leading the Masters! Cabrera is my top pick to win this major as I have posted 3 days back. He is such a sweetie. I volunteered during the Singapore Open 2 years back and I was the walking scorer in charge of his flight. He shows such compusure over every shot and he's such a gentleman too. He does not really flare up on the golf course often. Over every shot, he accesses his options calmly and then stay commited to his shot. A true class act!

I pray that he'll go on to win the Masters! Go Go Cabrera!

Saturday Dinner

Went out for dinner today and decided to go for something fun. We ate at 'Seoul Garden'
It's like a korean BBQ restaurant, buffet style.

So theres a wide range of Beef, Lamb, Chicken and Seafood, free flow drinks, buffet style cooked-food and dessert. Eat all you can basically.

You take your food, bring it to your table, choose to Barbecue them or boil them, its really fun! A good family dinner that's fun and bonding at the same time.

I especially liked the Chicken in Tom Yum marination, and also the black pepper beef!
The price is reasonable! Only 19USD, you get free flow food plus fountain drinks. Cool!

If any of you are visiting Singapore, let me know! I'll bring you there!

Time to hit the gym soon after all that grease!

Winter golfing in Brisbane

So, I've just finalized the details of my Brisbane trip no more than 20mins ago.
I'm so excited! I'll be there during Australia's winter, but winter in Brisbane is fine, its not extremely cold, so its perfect for golf. Can't wait to play some of the fine courses there.

Already planning to play Brookwater Golf Club (Top 26 in Australia), Glades Golf Club (Top 45 in Australia), Links Hope Island Golf Course (Top 31 in Australia), and The Colonial Golf Course.

I am pumped! I can't wait. It will be in another 2 months time! I've been to Perth and Melbourne and this would be my 1st time to Brisbane!
If any of you know of any other must play courses in Brisbane or Gold Coast, please drop me a message! Better still, if you live there, let's tee it up together!

Happy Good Friday and Easter! May God Bless you abundantly this special weekend!

Whooooo!

David Archuleta in Singapore

Ok, so since 1 month ago, I already knew David Archuleta was going to visit Singapore. I really like David Archuleta, my favourite American idol contestant for 8 seasons! He was the only contestant whom I bothered to wake up early in Singapore in order to call in to vote for him - Yes, long distance calls to vote! I am nuts! Even my husband was jealous!

So when I first knew he was coming, I was damn excited. I wanted to be there! He was going to officiate the opening of a new shopping mall here. So I went on the internet to google 'David Archuleta Singapore Fans'....I found the singapore fansite. I went in, got more details as to when and where, and also spent time reading up on the fansite. Okay, so I found out that 90% of the fans going to see David were like below 15 years old! I just imagined myself being there amongst all the screaming kids......quite awkward for an adult and I certainly can't imagine myself being there amongst these kids, no matter how big a fan I was. So, I decided that I am not going to be there and make a fool out of myself. Instead, I watched him do a live interview with our local news station on TV.

After his visit to Singapore, David moved on to Malaysia, which is 45mins flight from Singapore. He did a video blog in his hotel in Malaysia, how cute! He said he loved Singapore! Yeah! He likes the humid weather here as it prevents his throat from being dry (that I agree, my skin went from oily to flaking when I was in the States!!!)
David liked our food too, oh my God he loves Chicken Rice, which is also my favourite! I can cook for you David!
Hahahaha

I envy him, at 16 years old, known around the world, so talented and so much more to his future. Even though David Cook won american idol, Archuleta seems to be doing really well as the runner up.

Good Friday

So, it's 10th April here in Singapore, Good Friday.

The Masters will be screened live in another 2 hours, I don't think I'll be staying up to watch it. I'm a little tired today. Went out for a movie and just got back.

I watched [Knowing]. I enjoyed the movie. Its a refreshing script and I thought Nicholas Cage acted really well. I find the ending a little bit lame though - where the boy and the girl were in this new 'earth' to start everything over again and there was this Fruit Tree, very much the Adam and Eve storyline. Nevertheless, a good movie!

Ok, got to go now. I have a lot of FCT shaft sleeves to pack and get ready for shipping tomorrow. I always make the effort to ship out the same day no matter how tired I am.

I hope to turn in by 2:30am

Will catch up soon!

Taylormade R9 FCT shaft sleeves

Yeah! I got in more R9 FCT shaft sleeves today.
I now have all of them! The .350 & .335 (TP) and also the .370
The .370 is for the Taylormade Rescue Hybrid TP
Pictures from top to bottom: (1) .335 TP (2) .370 Rescue (3) .350
If you wanna get these sleeves you can email me or buy from my listing on eBay.

Cool! Watched American Idol, my favourite Danny Gokey sang 1st.
It was an OK performance. Had to admit the best of the night was Adam Lambert. I still love Danny though. My guess is Anoop, Kris and Scott for bottom 3.

Very disappointed with Manchester United last night, sigh. They probably will be out of the champions league, unless a miracle happens.

Catch up soon!

Virgin post

Hmmm, so, its my very first blog post. I am excited, to the extent that I do not know where to start. I'm gonna keep this post short though, you know why? Cos' I'm watching Champions League on TV. It's Manchester United vs Porto....and Porto just scored! Oh my...what's up with Manchester United lately? They look really shaky defensively, I hope they will come back, its just 8 mins into the match.

So lately what have I been up to? Hmm, on eBay, I have been selling the FCT shaft sleeves for the Taylormade R9 driver. These are really popular, I understand that Taylormade do not sell the FCT sleeves seperately. If you want a new FCT sleeve, buy a new shaft! Haha...so I have eBayers contacting me and asking me for these FCT sleeves, .350, TP .335 and Rescue hybrid TP .370
I have made a couple more great friends online and we still keep in touch via email on a daily basis - it's cool. This is the part I like most, the friendship gained. Its invaluable. It's not just the money I'm looking at when selling on eBay. (Yeah I know it sounds real corny but its true!)

Also been listing the pre-released Taylormade Spider Balero putter. My cousin sent me 8pcs of these. I shafted this and put it into play today, feels really good, but I still prefer my itsy bitsy spider putter, cos it's small and cute!

YES! Manchester United just scored! It's 1-1 now (15th min)....Manchester United needs to go on and whack Porto now....cos Porto has an away goal....

Oh, my cousin just told me that he's getting the R9 MAX driver (only available for the Japanese market) and the R9 460cc driver. I almost fainted. I can't believe Taylormade is releasing so many versions of the R9 within a span of less than 6 months! I thought it's the recession? Haha
Anyways, I'd welcome the R9 MAX...Japanese market products always have a hotter face and it benefits mediocre golfers like me. Haha! Also, the R9 Max, the loft is adjustable by 1.5 degrees, unlike the R9 which is adjustable by 1 degrees. The face angle can also be adjusted by 3 degrees for the R9 Max whereas for the R9, the face angle can only be adjusted by 2 degrees. Best of all, its a conforming driver, yeah! So, I'm really excited. I'll shaft it up with my favourite Graphite Design Pink Shaft! (The shaft Seon Hwa Lee uses, love Seon Hwa Lee's swing by the way)

Played golf this morning....I sucked! Haha, well, for the front 9, I guess I was not warmed up, was my usual self for the back 9.

Ok, gotta go now, I need to support my team! GLORY GLORY MANCHESTER UNITED!

Oh! American Idol tomorrow, so excited...can't wait to see Danny Gokey perform. Megan Joy is really pretty...too bad she keeps picking the wrong songs. I miss her already!

Take care you guys!
